Malibu One-Ninety is not a rental fleet. It is a single automobile — a 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL in silver over oxblood leather — offered one way only: chauffeured, delivered, and photographed against the most beautiful ten miles of coastline in California.
The 190 SL was Mercedes-Benz’s grand-touring answer to the legendary 300 SL Gullwing — the same silhouette, the same star, built for boulevards instead of racetracks. Grace Kelly owned one. So did Frank Sinatra. Fewer than 26,000 were ever made, and ours has been kept in concours condition: numbers-matching, silver over supple oxblood-red leather, ivory wheel, whitewall tires, and the original Becker radio still singing.
It is, simply, one of the most photographed automobile designs of the twentieth century — and in the golden light of a Malibu evening, it is untouchable.

The 190 SL is a two-seat roadster. With the chauffeur driving, one guest rides beside them — for couples, we alternate and stage photo stops so both of you are photographed in the car at every location.
Malibu gives us roughly 280 days of sunshine a year, but if the marine layer refuses to lift, we’ll happily move your reservation to the next golden evening at no charge.
